Passengers Are Touched By Bus Driver’s Act Of Kindness For Old Man

A Milwaukee bus driver named Chris is being commended for his unexpected act of kindness witnessed by his busload of passengers.

It was an ordinary morning along his route when Chris picked up an elderly man heading to the VA hospital for veteran affairs. Chris saw the man approach the front of the bus in a hurry to make it on time to his connecting bus. "I need to get on the 23! I can't miss this 23!" the old man proclaimed.

That's when the kindhearted driver did something that made the entire bus smile. He jumped from the driver's seat, parked the bus, and walked the man all the way across the street to make sure he safely made his connection. Instead of reacting with impatience or frustration, the passengers left on the bus watched the two strangers cross the street, so touched by the act of kindness that they told the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) about the good deed.

Chris is humbled by the praise and attention, but treating his passengers this way is nothing new. "I always try to help out when I can," he says. "We're all people and sometimes we need help."

It may be a simple act, but it's left a big mark on his community. In fact, Chris has already received five commendations from MCTS.

In the video below, you'll see touching responses from strangers who watch the footage, which was captured on surveillance. Please SHARE this sweet moment with your friends on Facebook!
