5-Year-Old Girl Buys Mourning Police Officers Ice Cream Using Her Own Allowance Money

In a heartbreaking moment, Kentucky police officer Joseph Cameron Ponder's life was taken when he was gunned down in the middle of a traffic stop.

The outpouring of love and support to our nation's police was so large on the day of his funeral that the short procession from the church to his final resting place took more than three hours. Just like Paul Harvey stated, being a policeman is one of the hardest jobs in the world, so all of these brave men and women deserve our respect!

Nearly 1,100 police cars were a part of the procession as cops from states all over came to pay their final respects to the 31-year-old man. With all of the heartache there was one moment that gave a glimmer of hope during these dark times.

Six policemen decided to drive over to a local McDonald's to grab a bite to eat before they hit the road, but right as they were finishing up they heard a little voice ask a question.

A 5-year-old girl named Isabella came up to them all with a tray of ice cream. She was aware of their friend's death and simply said, "Their friend died, and it's not fair because he has a family too." She used her own allowance money to give the heartbroken cops a present just to let them know that she was thankful for their service.

Luckily, a photo was taken of her kind gesture, and it's now going viral for obvious reasons.

While we can never bring him back, the honors and tribute he received from all around the nation help his friends and family grieve the loss.

But when 5-year-old Isabella saw his friends grieving, she decided she had to spend her allowance in order to let those six cops know that she — and the vast majority of the nation — respects and is thankful for everything that they do!
