Wedding Gowns Have Changed A Lot Since 1915, But These Are All Gorgeous!

There's a reason the old saying "what's old is new again" has stood the test of time…

History always seems to repeat itself and nowhere is that more obvious than in the fashion world. As you can see in this article about '50s fashion trends making a return this year, there's something timeless about a great dress. That's exactly why picking your wedding gown is so important…because no one wants to look back in 20 years and say, "What was I thinking?!".

Although there are some bridal trends that definitely need to stay in the past ('80s puff sleeves, anyone?!), some of the wedding gowns and unique styles from the past century are definitely still making a comeback on the Pinterest boards of brides-to-be everywhere.

In the following video from Mode.com, we see just how much wedding dresses have changed since 1915. While I'm watching this, I wonder why more women don't opt for bouquets like the 1915 style, hair and makeup like the model wears from 1945 or the flirty silhouette style from the 1955 look. The 2015 look is definitely accurate for many bride's today (notice the retro bird cage style veil?), but I can't help but think it's also the most boring of the bunch.

Maybe more women should start bringing back old styles (like this bride who was the 12th woman in her family to wear this heirloom). What do you think?
