When this adorable little girl's mother told her there was a surprise waiting for her in the local airport, this tiny 2-year-old had no idea she was in for the most amazing surprise of her entire life so far.
Even though she was just 2 years old, she had been missing her dad immensely for the past six months; her father, Randy, is a United States Army Blackhawk helicopter pilot, and even though he's been thousands and thousands of miles away for a whole quarter of her life, that doesn't mean that the two didn't love each other like crazy!
They say "absence makes the heart grow fonder," and when you see the face of this tiny little adorable girl, you'll see just how fondly she thinks of her hero dad!
While we all respect and appreciate the sacrifices of our nation's military men and women, we should never forget the countless sacrifices of the families of these military heroes as they have to patiently wait at home.
The support system that these families give to the soldiers abroad are what really keep the brave men and women in the service going every day and night. Soldiers like Randy all look forward to the moment when they can finally hear the amazing words, "welcome home!"
