You know what makes you happy, as do I. Maybe its the company of friends and family, maybe it's immersing yourself in nature hikes and swimming holes during the sunny seasons, maybe its a hobby particular to your skill set or interests.
But what makes an elephant happy?
This was a question posted by the Elephant Nature Park in their new video about the rescues at their rehabilitation in Chiang Mai, Thailand. What, indeed, for many of these animals whose lives have been marred with trauma, abuse, and for some, attempted murder.
There's no denying that the team at ENP works tirelessly to ensure their happiness. But what of the offerings at their permanent protective home and sanctuary really allows these majestic animals to live out the remainder of their happy lives amongst each other?
Friendship is what allowed Mae Perm and Jokia, one left blinded by abuse, to recover from their trauma as logging elephants and move on to become inseparable best friends. For others, it's finding new muddy spots to slide around like improvised slip-n-slides. All that and more in the incredible video below that proves that elephants are some of the most incredible creatures on the planet.
