Kathleen Siath was taking her usual walk with a friend through Willoughby Hills, OH when they decided to go a different way. That's when they stumbled upon something completely unexpected.
“It just was like a black blob laying on the ground,” Siath told Ohio’s WEWS NewsChannel5.
What the two friends found was a missing 19-year-old teenage named Matt Lunney (much like the scary time a baby was found in the woods).
"He was a little delirious because he hadn't eaten. He told us he was drinking out of puddles,” Siath said.
Lunney was only five minutes away from his home, yet a search crew couldn’t find him for over a week. The Willoughby Hills Police Department even posted photos of Lunney on Facebook urging anyone with information on the teen’s whereabouts to contact them.
According to news reports, Lunney had vanished after his shift ended at Panera Bread at 11 p.m. on Thursday night. Most of his personal belongings, including wallet and cell phone, remained at his house.
While it's unclear why Lunney avoided being found, Siath believes there's a reason she changed her path that day.
"Happenstance. Total happenstance. Well miracle,” Siath said. "It just was like something was really guiding us there."
