In 1998, Brooklyn mom Gezime Amer gave birth to twin boys. Two years later, she and her husband were shocked a second time when she got pregnant, this time with twin girls. Having two sets of multiples is very rare, and considering the fact it was natural conception both times, Gezime became one very blessed — and one very busy — mother of four. "Many people are having twins thanks to fertility drugs, but it is very difficult to have them naturally," her doctor said.
But in 2010, the unthinkable happened. Gezime and her husband, Adel, found out she had become naturally pregnant with twins for a third time. Twin boys, twin girls, and then twin boys again — and the siblings could not have been happier and more accepting of their uniquely growing family. "I think that God actually blessed us with this," Zenebe says. "Yea, Mommy's just blessed," mirrors her twin sister.
In the video below, watch the Amer family meet these tiny newborn babies. It's clear the family of eight is as close as can be, despite their modest means and the obstacles they face. "We don't have a lot of money, but we will make sure they have a bright future," Gezime said. "We'll be fine as long as we are all together."
