We all want to travel to other countries for various reasons: to learn about new cultures, to eat new kinds of food, or just to soak in a new and exciting landscape.
And considering the many beautiful things our world has to offer — like this exotic forest filled with mysteriously bent trees — it's no wonder some people devote their whole lives to travel.
But in the Flemish Region of Belgium, tourists who visit do not come to see a historic church or a famous park. Instead, they come to see the city's top attraction: a dog.
Fidel the great yellow Labrador, who lives in a beautiful bed-and-breakfast along one of the city's canals, has been a fixture on the tourist scene for years.

Fidel is just like every other dog: He loves to study his humans' every move and to sense all that goes on in his environment.
But Fidel takes his daily doggy observations to a whole new level — and because of this, he's been making headlines!
This beautiful Labrador lives in Côté Canal, a luxurious bed-and-breakfast in Bruges, the largest city in West Flanders, Belgium — and everyday, passers-by can find Fidel in the same exact spot.
By day, Fidel rests on a pillow, comfortably propped up by the window, looking out at the scenery joined by the Coupure and Sint-Annarei canals.
He always gazes down at the boats passing long on the canal, saying hello to all the passersby and tourists, who can’t help but smile when they see Fidel.
In fact, Fidel is so popular in Bruges that he has become somewhat of a “landmark.” The celebrity pooch has even appeared in the 2008 comedy crime film In Bruges, and has starred in a commercial for Godiva chocolates.
The pampered doggie has several thousands of fans all over the world who have posted pictures of him on social media sharing sites.
Some photographers and travelers have snapped Fidel in his natural state: a serene afternoon nap.
Whether Fidel knows he’s become a famous attraction or not, he is, without a doubt, one of the most adorable pups we have laid our eyes on!
