‘Piecaken’ Is The Most Incredible Holiday Dessert You’ve Never Heard Of

The holidays are all about friends, family, and — of course — food.

Big get-togethers with loved ones means that there will be tons of delicious dishes to choose from. And the best part of any holiday meal has to be the dessert.

People have gotten so creative with their dessert ideas, like with this incredible cake that looks like a turkey. But when I saw what people were making for the holidays this year, I actually couldn't believe it.

We've all heard about the turducken, which is a chicken stuffed inside a duck, stuffed inside a turkey. But I had never heard of a piecaken!

This indulgent and impressive dessert involves baking a pie right into the middle of a cake. In fact, piecakens are so popular this year that there is an entire blog called Piecaken where you can find all different recipes to make them yourself.

Scroll through to see what is sure to be the most talked-about dish at your holiday get-together.

The piecaken is a dessert that you likely have to see in order to believe. And once you see one, it becomes obvious that the sky is the limit.

You can literally bake any kind of pie inside any kind of cake, like this pumpkin pie inside an apple upside-down cake with cinnamon buttercream frosting.

Even store-bought pies work perfectly as the center of a piecaken, like with this delicious chocolate pie inside a peanut butter cheesecake.

And not everything has to involve the oven, as with this beautiful pumpkin pie placed inside of a no-bake cheesecake.

Piecakens don't only apply to full-size cakes either. You can also make mini piecakens that are the size of cupcakes, like with these mini blueberry-white chocolate pies inside of lemon cupcakes.

Probably the best way to break down just how these piecakens are constructed is at the cupcake size.

For these mini piecakens, tiny cherry pies are first made by putting cherries inside of tiny pie crusts.

The individual mini cherry pies are then baked on their own.

Once finished, they can be placed right into the cupcake batter.

Slicing them in half, you can see just how beautiful (and impressive) these treats will be to friends and family.

Creativity really is the name of the game with each of these different pie/cake combinations, such as this raspberry pie inside of a flourless dark chocolate cake.

And you don't have to limit yourself to a traditional cake either. This chocolate peanut butter pie is tucked inside of a Rice Krispies treat cake.

Some dessert aficionados have even taken things to the third degree, with something called a "cherpumple."

This involves three piecakens on top of each other, like this one that has a cherry pie inside white cake on top, apple pie inside yellow cake in the middle, and pumpkin pie inside spiced cake on the bottom.

This holiday season, impress your friends and family by making something a little outside the box, like this pecan pie inside of a maple dark chocolate truffle cake.

Once you make something like this peach pie inside of vanilla cake, you really won't be able to go back to just regular pie or regular cake.

Give a pumpkin pie tucked away in a milk chocolate fudge cake (or one of these other tasty options) a try yourself this year.

These are bound to be the most talked-about desserts for years to come!
