Man Finds Out He’s Missing By Seeing Himself On A Missing Person’s Site

Looking at Steve Carter, a 30-something software salesman in Philadelphia, you'd never know his past is riddled with twists, turns, and secrets of which he wasn't even aware for the majority of his life. He grew up knowing he was adopted as a young boy in Hawaii. But when he started a family of his own, he began to wonder about his biological parents.

It was around that time that Steve heard about a woman who was kidnapped as a baby, and reunited with her birth mother after finding her own baby picture on a missing children's website. So, on a hunch, Steve decided to visit MissingKids.com in 2011. Minutes later, he was staring back at a composite photograph of himself — thus beginning his journey to the truth.

After contacting the Honolulu Police Department, Steve submitted for a DNA test. Nearly a year later, Steve's DNA led him to some shocking revelations. One was his birth name: Marx Panama Moriarty Barnes. The other revelation was the fact that his biological father reported him missing after his mother took him for a walk, never to return…
