When Michael Dell and his wife, Susan Dell, began to publicly rub elbows with Donald Trump, those who are anti-MAGA saw the couple as fair game to poke, prod, and troll as much as they see fit. And, it seems, Susan’s appearance is what many seem to take away any time she appears to speak on behalf of Trump and Trump Accounts.
Now, Michael has tried to shift the focus away from his wife and the apparent hate she has received to the good he believes he and his wife are doing by adding money to Trump Accounts. In a series of posts on X, Michael has shared apparent letters and artwork from children who allegedly received money from the Dells for their Trump Accounts. But for those already anti-Trump, anti-Dell, and anti-billionaire, there isn’t much Michael can do to shift their attention away from Susan.
Michael Dell responded to criticisms about his wife.
This letter from Lance, a 3rd grader, made our day. 🥰 He loves LEGOs, coding, 3D printing, engineering camp, and experimenting with magnets. Lance, we’re the ones thanking you. We invested in your future. You’re already building it! 🚀🇺🇸 https://t.co/O6Mp67KpeU

Those who do not support Trump Accounts or the Dells have shared memes, gifs, and TikTok edits of Susan comparing what she looks like now to photos of her from decades ago in order to show how different she now looks. For some, the comparisons have gone beyond a simple before-and-after moment and turned into cyberbullying.
So, it seems, Michael wants people to instead focus on what he and Susan are doing for children. That means sharing countless letters that they have received, all dated of course, that reflect how children view the couple. In one X post, Michael shared a letter from a third grader who loves LEGOs and the Dells’ gift for his Trump Account.
In another, Michael shared a 10-year-old’s letter from a kid who uses Dell computers at school and is grateful for the $250 deposited into his Trump Account. This seems to be Michael’s way of shifting the narrative, and the attention, from jokes about his wife and side-eyes at his relationship with Trump, to what that relationship is all about.
Eric Trump spoke out about Susan Dell too.
People are awful. Susan and Michael Dell just put $6.25 billion into Trump Accounts for 25 million kids so they’ll have something waiting for them when they grow up—one of, if not the largest private donation in American History. The response? Vicious attacks on her. I’m tired of this nonsense. Very few people have done more for philanthropy. It’s disgusting and it has to stop. Susan, on behalf of the overwhelming majority of people in this nation: Thank You!! You are incredible! @DellFdn @MichaelDell

Eric Trump might also be tired of the jokes about Susan, whom his father joked had a future in politics. Eric posted about the “vicious attacks” on Susan after Susan and Michael pledged more than $6 billion into the accounts of millions of children. Michael’s approach might have been a bit different, but damage control seems to be the name of the game.
“I’m tired of this nonsense. Very few people have done more for philanthropy. It’s disgusting, and it has to stop,” Eric wrote on X. “Susan, on behalf of the overwhelming majority of people in this nation: Thank You!! You are incredible! @DellFdn @MichaelDell.”
A viral tweet from Michael Dell defending his wife’s appearance was debunked.
As Michael began sharing pictures and letters from children who received his and Susan’s donations into their Trump Accounts, a screenshot began circulating showing a more direct post from the Dell Technologies founder. In it, he called out people for speaking about his wife and added that she is “more beautiful than ever.”
“Y’all have way too much to say about my wife,” the viral screenshot says. “She looks more beautiful than ever, and I mean that. The internet really made some of you way too comfortable disrespecting people you don’t know. Keep making jokes if you want…I’m the one who gets to wake up next to her.”
There is no evidence of the post, however, and it appears to have been altered before it went viral.
