Bride Nearly Dies On Her Wedding Day, Doctor Calls It ‘Bad Luck’

Jill Hadad Hawkins was nervous and excited on her wedding day. In fact, on the day of her wedding, Jill woke up with a stomachache. She felt sick and dismissed the feeling as a few butterflies in her stomach. Jill chose to endure the feeling in her stomach. She got dressed, looked stunning, and walked down the aisle. But after posing for a few pictures, she was rushed to the hospital. It was her worst nightmare, and it was all happening again.

"It's really hard to come to terms with the fact that I could have died on my wedding night," Jill said. "But that's the reality."

When she was a teenager, Jill was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, a condition that affects the large intestine by causing inflammation and abdominal pain. She had to have several invasive surgeries to resolve the issue, and she was even convinced it was permanently gone. Jill hadn't had any symptoms in years until her wedding day. Doctors told her that she had a twist in her intestines that cut off some of the blood supply. If she had kept ignoring the feeling, she would have died. Jill is doing well now, but her experience sends an important message to us all: listen to your body.
