One City Thought Of A BRILLIANT Way To Create ”Tiny” Homes For All Of Their Homeless People!!!

…And anyone earning $15,000.00 per less. If you care about your community's underprivileged, you need to check this out!

In progressive Portland, Oregon, the non-profit Micro Community Concepts has teamed up with tiny-home experts, TechDwell, to work on tiny-home concepts that would house all of the city's homeless. Multnomah County Chairwoman, Deborah Kafoury, explained to the Oregonian that the tiny home movement was just a PART of solving the city's problems. "Before people can get back on their feet and take advantage of job training and drug and alcohol counseling, they need a place to live. This helps accomplish that."

The houses wouldn't be given away for free, but they would be possible for people in recovery and treatment programs to finance. Rent would be between $250 and 350 per month – affordable for people making $5,000 to $15,000 per year, according to the founder of TechDwell, Dave Carboneau. 25 housing units would be installed on individual plots with community laundry, admin, and amenities on site. Initial plans include 25 housing units on a given plot of land, with laundry, administrative services and other amenities present on-site. Check out photos of the beautiful tiny homes below, and please SHARE if you think this is a great idea for EVERY city! All images courtesy of TechDwell.

Heres a birds-eye view of what each micro-home community will look like.

While the tiny homes may not look like much, they're part of a much larger movement about redefining the American Dream. The McMansion with two cars in the driveway is a long way off for many people in our country. These tiny dwellings are a house to call home, and that's what matters when it comes to getting your life back in order after hardship! Please SHARE if you believe the tiny home movement should be a part of solving the homelessness crisis in your town!
