Australian TV host and occasional prankster of the Today Show, Karl Stefanovic, has been fooling viewers for the past year for one pretty shocking – and incredible – reason.
Tired of his female coworkers being judged and criticized every day for their appearance, Stefanovic revealed over the weekend that he has been secretly conducting a year-long experiment to prove the reality of sexism in television. “I’ve worn the same suit on air for a year — except for a couple of times because of circumstance — to make a point,” Stefanovic revealed on his show. “Women are judged much more harshly and keenly for what they do, what they say and what they wear.”
Stefanovic said he got the idea to support his co-host, Lisa Wilkinson, who was often harassed by viewers for her fashion choices. Since his shocking reveal, Stefanovic's story has made news around the world and his secret social experiment has EVERYONE talking. He may look good in that navy suit, but there's no denying that a female television host could not get away with the same thing.
This video proves that sexism is very often fueled by women, not men. Check out the video below to say THANK YOU to Stefanovic for proving this amazing point!
