The couple met while working together on Fosse/Verdon, which Michelle starred in and Thomas directed and produced. Michelle won a SAG award and a Golden Globe and received tons of other accolades for her incredible performance.

"Women 18 to 118, when it is time to vote, please do so in your own self-interest," she urged. "It's what men have been doing for years and it's why the world looks so much like them."

Back in March, it was reported that the couple tied the knot in secret. But it's not all that surprising because Michelle is known to be ultra-private about her life. Her engagement and baby announcement came only about a year after it was reported that she split with ex-husband Phil Elverum of the band Mount Erie. They were married for only a year, and that wedding also happened in secret.
Michelle's husband has also been previously married. He was married to actress Angela Christian in 2006. An insider told Us Weekly that after both he and Michelle ended their previous relationships, they "fell hard and fast for each other." It definitely seems like that's the case!
It's really lovely to see Michelle so happy again. But even after a horrific tragedy like losing the father of her first child, Michelle has remained hopeful about love. She told Vanity Fair about that hope in 2018. "I never gave up on love," she told the outlet. "I always say to Matilda, 'Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.'"
That hopeful attitude seems to have been a catalyst for happiness in Michelle's life. She's so talented and driven. But she's also, in every way, a family person. She clearly loves her daughter and her new husband. And now that love can continue to grow, as she embraces her new child.
Michelle also maintains a close relationship with actress Busy Philipps, who has said that Michelle is like her family.
It's the first sibling for big sister Matilda, which will be interesting to watch! It can be tough becoming a sibling at any age, and having been the only child of Michelle's for 14 years, it may certainly be a transition.
