After 69 Years Of Marriage, He Couldn’t Live Without Her. What He Did Defines True Love!

An Ohio couple has left this world with a love story to end all love stories.

After 69 years together, Pat and Gene Warrington passed away on December 27th at an Ohio hospice care facility. The day before, Phil Warrington visited his parents and realized his mother was in critical condition.

Gene told his son that life wouldn't be fun without his wife before pulling out his own intravenous tubes. Eight hours later, Pat followed her husband and passed away of natural causes.

Phil said he was not surprised by his parents' passing. "You could have almost predicted it," he told the Advertiser-Tribune in Tiffin, Ohio. "They did everything in their life together. They were never apart."

88-year-old Gene and 86-year-old Pat never loved anyone else and never spent much time apart in their 69 years together. The couple met in middle school and secretly wed in high school after Gene was drafted for World War II.

Phil told the Advertiser-Tribune that when his father returned from war, he knew he never wanted to be away from his wife again — and he never was.

Gene and Pat are survived by their three children, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Read more about their incredible love story below.
