Even Hollywood legends haven't got it easy!
Meryl Streep is one of the most talented, classy, and sought-after actresses of our time. In my mind, she's a legend, because even as she ages, she is still perfectly beautiful — and not only that, her talent only grows with her years! Plus, she always seems so nice, and so "above" all the rumors and bad press that so many actors become embroiled in these days.
But even angelic Meryl has had to deal with piggish directors in her day. In this clip from The Graham Norton Show, Meryl recounts an audition she had for famous director Dino De Laurentiis' remake of King Kong in the '70s. Dino's son saw her in a play and asked her to come in to audition for his dad, but as soon as Meryl stepped into De Laurentiis' office, he had some very unkind words for the actress. Little did he know that Streep understood Italian, so she knew exactly what he was saying!
Luckily, Streep didn't need that audition to become the amazing star she is today. And this is just more proof that you should never worry about what other people think of you!
