There's something totally mesmerizing about watching a really great chef work. From the way they cut and prep their ingredients, to the rhythmic quality of the way they cook their dishes, and the simple beauty of their presentation. It's like a great dance… only with food.
We've seen the work of Master Sushi Chef Hiro Terada before. He's done several YouTube videos where he takes "the sharpest knife in the world" and does something amazing with it to the food he's preparing. The videos, however, never seem to get old.
In this particular video, uploaded by NoVe Kitchen and Bar in Miami, Florida, Chef Terada is at it again with his super sharp knives by his side. He is handed a tomato and begins to start slicing it quickly. Only these aren't just your regular, run of the mill slices. These slices are paper thin. It's all happening so fast that you're almost just watching in awe.
But, before you know it, Chef Terada puts down his knife and starts to manipulate the tomato and shape it into an absolutely gorgeous garnish that he often uses on his sushi dishes. Wow!
Now, this might not be something you can just pick up on the first few tries in your kitchen. Hiro Terada is a Master Sushi Chef and his knives are, at least according to him, the "sharpest in the world."
So you'll need to get out your sharpest blade and take your time as you practice, practice, practice and, before long, you might also be able to create this really cool garnish for your very own plate. Good luck!
