I guess emus love a nice pair of legs.
At least that's what this hilarious video — in which an Australian wildlife guide lies on his back and cycles his legs around to hypnotize emus — would suggest. His movements might seem absurd, but these birds can't get enough. I mean, do they think his legs are emus?
I guess the shoes look like beaks…
The original YouTube user who uploaded the video claims this is a technique to catch emus, and it seems to work. Every time he begins to cycle those legs, they inch closer, and closer, and closer.
Fortunately, they never get too close. Though they seem goofy and awkward, emus are surprisingly fierce: an emu's strongly clawed legs can tear through wire fences.
Emus are the second largest bird on earth and can reach a height of over six feet. They are flightless, but can sprint over 31 mph. They're curious animals and will often approach humans when attracted by certain movements or articles of clothing.
The emu is so important to its native Australia that it appears on the coat of arms and a variety of coins. Also, they're pretty funny-looking.
