Dogs can be trained to do a lot of things like sit, roll over, and jump. But those tricks are pretty minuscule for Carrie, the golden retriever in this video.
Dubbed "The Dancing Merengue Dog,” the Chilean pooch has mastered a whole choreographed routine to Latin music. In this clip, Carrie is seen wearing a green skirt as she boogies on her hind legs with her owner, José Fuentes.
Fuentes, a Chilean photographer, bought Carrie when she was two months old and quickly taught her tricks. It was only a matter of time before she started dancing.
“[W]hen she was 2 years old she just upped and started dancing without any planning on my part," Fuentes told Spain’s Efe. "We established a really good connection from the time she was a puppy, so I started teaching her tricks, tricks and more tricks, and she learned so quickly my brain couldn't keep up with her to teach her more things to do.”
Carrie, now 10, has become quite a star: She opened Tennessee’s annual music festival Bonnaroo in 2012 and appeared on The Late Show with Dave Letterman in 2010.
