Living life in a wheelchair wouldn't be such a big deal if the world were wheelchair accessible. That seems obvious, but many people would suggest that the inability to walk somehow makes you deficient.
The fact is, those in wheelchairs can live rich and amazing lives like anybody else — just look at Gracie Latkovski's performance or even this tiny pig!
Living life in a wheelchair is only difficult because one has to adjust to a world that won't adjust to them.
Getting around can be difficult. When you're in a wheelchair, you still may have the mental faculties to drive. But how can you truly be independent if assistance is always needed to help you get into a car? How can you properly drive if your legs cannot efficiently work the pedals? Most car modifications for wheelchair accessibility are very expensive and ultimately aren't the most efficient.
These are questions the car designers of the Kenguru had considered when they made this car for people in wheelchairs. Featured on AOL's Translogic, the Kenguru car is stiff competition for other vehicles that pride themselves on their wheelchair accessibility like the Toyota Noah and Toyota Voxy Welcabs.
The Kenguru looks like the most popular smart car, the Smart Fortwo, but inside it's completely different. When the hatch of the car opens, the wheelchair is able to roll right in.
For someone like Zoern, who has been in a wheelchair her whole life, this seemed like the perfect fit.
Except there was only one problem. When she called the Kenguru car manufacturer in Hungary they told her they were going out of business due to lack of funding.
What Zoern did next . . . well, you're going to have to watch the video to find out!
