The Monarch house, aptly named after the beautiful butterfly, measures a mere 8.5' x 20' and weighs only 8,000 lbs.

Like the monarch butterfly, this gorgeous home is colorful, can travel great distances, and has a light footprint.

The idea for the Monarch came when creators Ryan and Ben noticed that, as the popularity of tiny houses began to climb, so had their prices.

They decided they wanted to bring their own beautiful, minimalist homes to people across the nation — but without the hefty price tags.

They devoted themselves to delivering tiny homes with "unmatched materials for a price that makes sense," as they say on their website.

"We believe tiny-house living shouldn't take years or fortunes to acquire," they write.

Their seaside tiny house costs less than $50,000 — less than a quarter of the price of an average home.

But, built upon wheels, the Monarch can fly free to the location of the owner's choosing.

And built of sturdy but very practical materials, the Monarch can easily sustain travel and transportation.

Its walls are made of something called structural insulated panels, which are strong, environmentally friendly, and greatly reduce heating and cooling costs.

The special window panes increase energy efficiency and help to soundproof the house.

The siding is made from reclaimed wood fibers and recycled plastic bottles. It's waterproof and will not stretch, stain, or fade.

Each house comes with a self-contained composting toilet — but this could be switched out for a normal flush toilet if you prefer.

Spacious, practical, and environmentally friendly, this tiny house is a minimalist's dream.

With a house this light and free, any gorgeous view is possible — but this seaside cliff might be just perfect.
