Tennessee Twin Sisters Give Birth Just 90 Minutes Apart — On Their Birthday

Twins definitely have some kind of superpower, or super connectivity, perhaps. There have been all kinds of strange and incredible happenings involving twins sharing so much more than just the same birthday. One set of twins from Tennessee just proved that the superpower connection has to be real.

The twin sisters just welcomed their daughters on the same day, which also happened to be their birthday.

The women are Amber Tramontana and Autum Shaw. Fittingly, they were in neighboring rooms at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. They didn't give birth at exactly the same time, but it was pretty close. Their babies came into the world just 90 minutes apart. They honestly couldn't have given birth much closer together if they tried.

The fact that it happened on their birthday is downright miraculous. Must be a twin thing! If not, then they are just really excellent planners.

Giving birth is an incredibly special day no matter what. But giving birth, on your birthday, and on the same day as your twin sister? It's hard to imagine something more special than that! But that's exactly what happened to these two Tennessee twin sisters.

Double the sweetness and double the love! ❤️❤️ It was a special day here this week at Fort Sanders Regional when...

Autum's baby came first. "Autum delivered and we were able to hear a faint cry," Amber told Good Morning America about the very special day. "My husband knocked on the wall as a way of saying congratulations. Ninety minutes later, we deliver and they returned the same knock."

Both girls were healthy and perfect. The cousins, born just 90 minutes apart, will certainly have a close bond. Amber and her husband named their baby Blakey James. Autum's baby is named Charleston Scott.

October 29 was their official due date, as well as the day that the women turned 33. Amber is the older sister by about two minutes. Amazingly, the women also have toddler boys who are about the same age. Clearly, this family is incredibly close.

It's so fitting the twins gave birth on the same day, given that they've pretty much shared everything. "We've done everything together our entire lives," Autum told GMA. "We went to nursing school together, we were pregnant with our boys together at the same time and for the delivery of our girls."

Autum told GMA that it's even more amazing because the twins did not plan to be pregnant at the same time. She struggled with infertility issues after having her son, so the fact that it happened that way is remarkable. She actually miscarried on Christmas Day in 2019. A few months later, she found out she was expecting again and that her sister was, too!

Going through a pregnancy can be filled with challenges. Having your twin sister by your side while you go through it is a pretty amazing gift. These sisters seem to know how lucky they are, though. Now their daughters will get to go through life side by side, as well.

Among those who were blown away by the occurrence was the women's doctor. Dr. George Vick delivered the twins' baby girls. He has been a doctor for over 40 years and said he's delivered for twins before but not on the same day, or on their birthday. "Amber had a little taste of labor. I saw her the day before and then her sister was ready to roll so we had babies," he said. "It was a miracle."

It's really a touching story. And Autum says that even though she had a pretty painful experience after her miscarriage, now she sees the bigger picture. "There was all this waiting and heartbreak … now I look at this bigger picture and God had a bigger plan," she said.

The women say they're excited to raise their girls alongside one another. And as for the special day, they say it's going to be a huge deal in their households. How could it not be? With four birthdays in one day, it's bound to be one heck of a celebration, year after year.
