Here at LittleThings, we love it when people repurpose old household items into stuff that's not only new-and-improved, but also functional. This DIY project is no exception — not to mention, it's the center of attention at any house party.
Jeff, who lives in Canada, took his beautiful 1908 Heinztman & Co. Upright Piano, refinished it, and converted into a fully functional bar! How cool is this?!
Watch as his son opens up the piano to reveal the goods inside — complete with flashing LED lights, mirrors, shelving, glasses, and of course, bottles of his favorite liquors.
Jeff describes his project in the comments of his video, and says, "The most labour intensive part was stripping and refinishing. The finish was in pretty bad shape. If no stripping involved could probably do this in a couple weeks of evenings and weekends. I did it over 6 months which allowed me to plan it as I went along. Found the fridge then built the underneath around it. Found the LED lights so then planned the lighting around what I found. There are now struts on the top door so that it descends slowly. Since there is no plan it is best to do it slowly and plan it as you go."
This project reminds me of the old, cheap clawfoot bathtub that was turned it into a beautiful sofa we recently showed you. I feel so inspired to refurbish something of my own 🙂
