Lemurs are known for being extra bouncy animals, but this little baby doesn't know that yet. He's trying to be brave enough to jump from one person's hands to the next, but he's so itty bitty that even a tiny space looks like a massive canyon to him! Watching him try to convince himself to take the leap gave me anxiety for him, but at the same time, this is one of the cutest moments I've ever seen!
They may look a bit strange, but I think lemurs are some of the most adorable animals out there. Not only are they playful, but as we've seen before, they're also really, really smart. But I had no idea that they started off so small! These furry critters are so strangely human-like that it's easy to forget that they're not actually that big…and as we can see here, their babies can fit in the palm of your hand.
This little guy is currently being housed at the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge, so this jumping exercise is very likely part of a training program to get him ready to live in the wild on his own. But even though I know that it's good for him, I still got a bit stressed out watching him get ready to jump. After he successfully made it across, though, I'm sure he feels ready to conquer any other leap that he needs to make!
