The Judges Didn’t Think She Could Pull It Off, But When She Starts Singing? WOW…

If there’s one unifying fear I think we can all relate to, it’s standing at the front of a crowd to give a speech, presentation, or performance. Like a roller coaster you’d prefer not to ride, the drop in your stomach as you take your position in front of a captive audience is one of the most uncomfortable feelings we’ve probably all had to endure at least once.

So when Cumbria’s 23-year-old Emma Jones takes the stage on a recent episode of Britain’s Got Talent, it’s easy to identify with her shaky nerves. When Simon asks her if she’s nervous, she can hardly muster a response. But when she begins to sing “Ave Maria,” the crowd gasps and applauds her incredible voice. By the end of her performance, both the audience and the judges rise to their feet to give her a standing ovation.

Emma is yet another underdog we loved rooting for — one of many we’ve seen from BGT recently. Let’s not forget Arisxandra Libantino’s amazing Whitney Houston cover of “I Have Nothing.” Ella Shaw performing her original song “Summertime” is another one of our recent favorites, and apparently the audience felt the same — she also received a standing ovation for her performance.
