84-Year-Old Woman Reunited With Beloved Poodle After Texas Flood

Deadly storms and flash flooding have ravaged parts of Texas and Oklahoma, but there was a glimmer of hope this week when one woman was finally reunited with her beloved dog.

Lena Givens, 84, was at the Houston Rockets basketball game when the storm started. The woman was stranded and unable to get back to her home because her road was completely flooded. She feared the worst because her poodle, Tinkerbell, was in a kennel inside her home.

Knowing Tinkerbell was stuck inside the house, Given's grandson, Brian Gardner, borrowed a friend's duck boat to rescue the animal. When he arrived, Tinkerbell was floating on a chair in the living area. The dog somehow got out of her kennel, a small miracle that likely saved the dog's life! Gardner scooped up the wet pet and brought the dog to safety.

After hours of worrying, Givens finally got the good news she was hoping for — her dog was safe.

The grandmother was overjoyed after she was reunited with her poodle, who was stranded in a flooded house for more than 12 hours. The local news station captured video of the happy reunion. This is such a lucky story for Givens and Tinkerbell.
