Ellen DeGeneres Updates Fans On Her COVID Experience And Reveals ‘Excruciating’ Symptom

Ellen DeGeneres is updating fans on her condition after testing positive for COVID-19. The talk show host first announced she was ill on December 10 in a message posted on Twitter.

"Hi Everyone, I want to let you all know that I tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, I'm feeling fine right now," she wrote.

"Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following all proper CDC guidelines. I'll see you all again after the holidays. Please stay healthy and safe."

It's been a week since the announcement. Ellen is now sharing an update with fans. She definitely doesn't seem to be in as good of spirits as she was last week, but she's not doing too badly either.

Ellen DeGeneres has decided to be open about her journey with COVID-19. Last week, the talk show host took to Twitter to announce she tested positive.

"Hi Everyone, I want to let you all know that I tested positive for Covid-19," she wrote. "Fortunately, I'm feeling fine right now. Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following all proper CDC guidelines. I'll see you all again after the holidays. Please stay healthy and safe."

Despite the controversy around Ellen this year, many fans wished her well. She thanked them for it the next day.

She wrote: "Thank you for all of your sweet messages. They’re helping a lot. Wally is helping too."

It's been a week and now, Ellen is offering an update. She looked a little worse for wear while recording the video, though she did seem upbeat. She assured fans she was getting through everything just fine.

"Hi everybody, just saying thank you to all the well wishers," she said in the video.

"I appreciate it very much," she continued. "I feel 100%. I feel really good."

Then, she moved on to the "one thing they don't tell you" about having COVID.

"You get, somehow, excruciating back pain," she revealed. "Didn't know that that was a symptom, but I talked to some other people. Back pain. Who knew? How come?"

Ellen's been passing the time by cuddling with her dogs and spending time with wife Portia de Rossi. At the end of the video, the two of them joke around over a game of Connect Four. Both women have different ideas about who wins the game more often.

There hasn't been any word on whether anyone on Ellen's show or her team has tested positive. There's also been no comment on whether Portia also has tested positive. Some believe it likely since the two continue to be in close quarters.

Portia stuck by Ellen's side through all of this year's drama. She even posted thanking fans for their support.

"To all our fans….we see you," she captioned the "I Stand By Ellen" icon.

"Thank you for your support."

Portia has often gushed about her relationship with Ellen and who her wife is as a person.

"We're just really good friends and we talk about everything, and we never ever, ever lie to each other, like, not even the tiniest lies," she told Entertainment Tonight.

"And she's the only person I want to hang out with. Like, she is my best friend and I just want to be with her all the time."
