When I'm in the mood for a sweet treat, especially on a hot summer day, I'm often tempted to grab something I probably shouldn't. Things like sugary popsicles, brightly colored slushies, and sticky ice cream cones are some of the first things I reach for when the temperature starts to climb.
But when looking to satisfy a sweet tooth and beat the heat, I often forget that there are lots of yummy snack alternatives out there — which is why I love this quick and easy recipe! Not only is this easy on the wallet, but the waistline too — and it looks delicious.
To make this scrumptious summer snack, all you'll need are some bananas, a few simple ingredients, and a freezer. When you're done, it's the perfect treat for a pool party, cookout, or just munching on in your backyard.
Looking for a fun indoor activity with your kids or grandkids? This would make for a great rainy day project, or a fun group activity during a slumber party. Kids will love to make — and eat! — this healthy treat.
What you'll need:
- 3 to 4 bananas, peeled and cut
- 1/2 cup melted baking chocolate
- Popsicle sticks or skewers
- Assorted toppings of choice (sprinkles, shredded coconut, nuts, etc.)
