Pig’s Reaction To Seeing Grass For The First Time Will Make You Tear Up

Not a lot of people realize that pigs are just as intelligent as most 3-year-old human children. So to keep these intelligent animals cooped up in stinky, unsanitary, and tiny dirt cages is a pretty horrible thing to do to these sweet animals.

Meet Wilbur the pig and his good friend Anastasia. Both of these pigs were kept in tiny cages at a wildlife "sanctuary." The "sanctuary" was originally meant to save horses and other farm animals, but for whatever reason those good intentions led to horrible conditions for the animals. Eventually the authorities had to get involved and the horses were taken away. However, no one knew what to do with the two pigs.

Luckily, the amazing people at Animal Place rescue center offered to save the two pigs. Animal Place rescues farmed animals from slaughter and provides them with a permanent sanctuary and place to live out their lives. Working with 600 acres of beautiful grassland, this amazing team of people will make sure that Anastasia and Wilbur live out happy and healthy lives with grass beneath their feet!

It's a shame that these pigs were put in such poor conditions, but thankfully this story has a happy ending. Make sure to watch the video of them walking in the grass; they seemed confused at first, until they realized that grass is way more fun to lay in than dirt!
