They say that opposites like fire and ice are things that shouldn't be combined. They don't go well together, so why would you want the two of them to mix?
But, as many people know, sometimes opposites attract, and they can combine for some absolutely amazing combinations. Add to that the fact that just about every rule is made to be broken, and you've got yourself the makings of one extremely awesome video like this one.
If you have seen any of Devin Supertramp's other videos, like the awesome extreme seesawing video he created, you know that he likes to take everyday sports and activities and add some kind of extreme and unique edge…and it's usually one you would never expect.
Following along those guidelines, Devin decided to tackle the sport of figure skating. While Devin has had a few lessons himself in the sport, for this video he decided to stay behind the cameras directing, and leave the professionals to the rink. But not without the challenge of having flares strapped to their skates as they perform one of their routines.
While the pros make this look effortless and quite beautiful, as they fly across the ice with sparks trailing behind them, the process behind the video involved a whole lot of ice maintenance and safety precautions, all definitely worth the effort!
