He Dumps THIS Into A Wooden Box To Make An Amazing Summer Craft!

When I think back through the years, some of my all-time favorite memories took place at the beach. The warm sun, the cool ocean, the fun games — it's always a wonderful time.

But aside from some shells I've picked up (and the sand I've tracked home in my shoes), when it's time to pack up, there's really no good way to bring the beach home with you.

At least, that's what I thought before I found this amazing do-it-yourself craft! Who knew it was so fun and easy to hold on to those summer memories forever?

Sure, you don't need a physical object to treasure precious memories, but it's always nice to look at something and feel those moments flood back to you.

Looking for a beautiful way to capture his family's precious beach memories, crafter Rob got to work. He started by disassembling a pallet he found, then turning the pieces into a small box.

To ensure nothing would fall through any cracks in his box, he used some weed barrier as a liner.

After trimming the liner down, he hammered in about 20–30 nails (not pictured here) to create a good grip.

Then, in a large bucket, he poured some sand from their favorite beach. He then added craft glue.

After adding six bottles of glue, Rob began to mix it up.

He was aiming for a peanut butter-like consistency. Once he'd achieved it, he moved to the next step.

After dumping the sand into his wooden box, he began to spread it evenly across the bottom.

Using a putty knife, he made the surface nice and smooth.

Once that was done, Rob wrote his and his wife's initials in the sand. He then let it sit and cure for 48 hours.

When he was done, Rob's beautiful sand art made a lovely gift for his wife — and a beautiful addition to their home!
