Michael Douglas Just Met His Grandson For The First Time And He Can’t Get Enough Snuggles

Michael Douglas is a grandfather for the second time. Michael's oldest son, 42-year-old Cameron, and partner Viviane Thibes welcomed their second child.

Their son, Ryder T. Douglas, was born last month. He joins the couple's first child, 3-year-old Lua Izzy.

Because of the rules around newborns during the health crisis, Michael wasn't able to meet little Ryder in person until now. He looks so completely thrilled to be a grandpa as he holds the baby boy in his arms.

Michael Douglas is loving being a grandpa. The 76-year-old actor shared a selfie with his 3-year-old granddaughter, Lua Izzy, in celebration of her birthday a few weeks ago.

"Happy Birthday to my granddaughter Lua, who turns 3 years old today! Love you Lua! ❤️ : @cameronmorrelldouglas," he wrote.

Just a few weeks later, a new little Douglas joined the family. Michael's oldest son, Cameron, and his partner, Viviane Thibes, welcomed their second child in late December. Cameron shared a family photo to announce the great news, just days after big sister Lua's birthday.

"Touch down planet earth Welcome my Son…Ryder T. Douglas ," he shared.

Michael shared the same photo and congratulated the newly minted family of four.

"Congratulations Cameron and Viviane! Welcome to the Ryder T. Douglas! ❤️ #ProudGrandpa," he wrote.

Because of the health crisis, Michael didn't get to meet Ryder right away. After about a month, the time has finally come. From the looks of it, Michael truly cherished it.

"First time I've seen my month old grandson, Ryder! ❤️," he captioned the shot.

Cameron talked about fatherhood in a late-2020 discussion of his Jewish background with Atlanta Jewish Times. He also revealed a special connection between his daughter and his late grandfather, Kirk Douglas, who died at 103 in February 2020.

"I am always learning things. My little daughter Lua (which means moon in Portuguese) is called 'Izzy,' named after the nickname of my Grandfather Kirk. She is my greatest teacher. We must become the energy we want to attract. It's in a struggle where we grow."

Cameron has struggled with addiction, but he's finally found his way. After nearly eight years in prison, Cameron is sober, exploring creative exploits, and more. With his family supporting him every step of the way, the future is bright for the Douglas family.
