Pekin duck Twinkie likes to chatter and hide in the bushes around his home. But when Mom comes home, and she calls his name, Twinkie comes running to her almost like a dog!
The 3-year-old duck makes a grand entrance in the video, quacking to greet her.
"He has been more like a dog than a duck actually and does get along well with my dogs. He is a Pekin and is very much domesticated. He loves to come in the house when he can. He has his own little pool but enjoys sneaking into mine more than his own," Twinkie's owner Janet told LittleThings.
When Twinkie isn't splashing around in the pool, likes to play with balls and catch English peas that are thrown his way, his owner said.
According to Janet, Twinkie had a mate named Zinger, but she passed about a year ago. He has become super attached to her since then and has become a close companion for the family. He's bringing smiles to everyone around him, and it's easy to see why!
Like any pet, it's good to do research to see if a duck would be an ideal addition before adopting one as a pet. But taking care of a duck as a farm animal or pet can be a rewarding experience.
