Jennifer Aniston is not adopting a baby from a Mexican orphanage, contrary to popular belief!
That's right, folks. Once again, the megastar is shutting down those obnoxious baby rumors, and she probably can't believe that she still has to do this. After all, she's been doing it for decades. But people just can't get over the fact that there isn't a baby on the horizon for Jen. And that maybe, just maybe, she's actually truly content with her life the way that it is — baby-free.
The rumor began swirling recently that Jen was adopting when "sources" said it was definitely, totally happening. Not only that, the word was that she had just revealed the big news to her Friends costars while filming the highly anticipated reunion show. Sources said the women — as in Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox — already knew, but Jen waited until filming to tell the men.
Nope — all completely and totally false.
These rumors have literally been plaguing Jen for her entire career. And we already know she's completely over it. She even wrote a very pointed essay about just that in 2016. In it, she said, "For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up. I'm fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of 'journalism,' the 'First Amendment' and 'celebrity news.'"
The essay pointed to some daunting truths about why the rumors are so damaging, and not just to her, but to all women. She continued, writing, "If I am some kind of symbol to some people out there, then clearly I am an example of the lens through which we, as a society, view our mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, female friends and colleagues. The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing. The way I am portrayed by the media is simply a reflection of how we see and portray women in general, measured against some warped standard of beauty."
She also wrote about how awful it is to be harassed by paparazzi trying to get a picture of her looking the tiniest bit pregnant at all costs. But she wanted to make it clear that her value shouldn't be determined by this one choice that people keep wanting her to make.
"This past month in particular has illuminated for me how much we define a woman's value based on her marital and maternal status," she went on. "We are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies."
It's hard to even understand how these rumors get started in the first place when there isn't any truth to them whatsoever. A source apparently told Closer Magazine: "Jen felt the reunion was the perfect time to make her baby announcement to the whole gang."
Jen hasn't personally spoken out about the most recent baby rumors, but her rep has. TMZ reached out to Jen for a comment and was told that nope, it's all made up. E! also reported that "the story is a fabrication and false."
Well, there ya have it.
The whole thing has got to be giving Jen flashbacks. Back in the Friends days, the baby rumors were constantly swirling around her. People wanted her and Brad Pitt to have a baby so badly, and while that potential child would've been deeply gorgeous, it never happened, to the public's great disappointment.
But now, here she is nearly 20 years after Friends wrapped, filming the highly anticipated reunion show, probably not worried at all about baby rumors, and BAM. What do ya know? An adoption rumor hits the mainstream. More than likely, all Jen wants to do is film the show in peace and put her all into it, since people have been wanting this reunion to happen for, like, ever. But no, that's not good enough.
Jennifer knows by now that being a woman in Hollywood isn't all roses. But for the love of Pete, give her a freaking break when it comes to the perpetual baby crap. She's successful, happy, and thriving. She just happens to be baby-free. For so many women, that is more than enough, because news flash: Not everyone wants a baby, no matter how badly we want them to have one.
Perhaps it's time to get over the idea of Jennifer's "baby bliss" story because it doesn't look like it's happening. We will all just have to suck it up and stop worrying about Jen's life choices and focus on her GD career — ya know, entertaining us and making us laugh.
Like, hasn't she given us ENOUGH?
She's basically been the most important public servant of our time. Stop trying to give her a kid. Let her work and be amazing. Forever and ever. The end.
