Last year, Anderson Cooper surprised the world by announcing he had welcomed his son, Wyatt, into the world. Since then, the pair have proven to be fond of dropping unexpected, and very adorable, photos and tidbits online, mostly on Instagram.
Anderson recently celebrated Wyatt's birthday, and he penned a quick note to his brand-new 1-year-old. While he didn't reveal what shenanigans the two got up to while partying, he did share two brand-new photos of Wyatt that are pretty precious.
Anderson also recently opened up about whether or not he'd consider having a second child via surrogacy.
Anderson wrote, "Today is Wyatt’s first birthday. I can’t believe it has already been a year. He is sweet and funny, happy and kind, and i love him more than I ever thought possible."
Anderson wasn't the only one who wished Wyatt a happy birthday. His good friend Andy Cohen also posted a photo of himself and Wyatt together along with birthday wishes: "Happy 1st Birthday Wyatt Cooper! I love twinning with you. XO Uncle Andy & Mr. Ben."
Anderson also recently told People that he's not against having a second baby … once he gets a few more naps in: "I need to probably sleep a little bit more and clear my head, but I think it would be great, one day, to have a brother or sister for Wyatt."
He also spoke about his surrogate and described himself as "incredibly lucky" to be able to have a child that way. "[The surrogate] is an amazing person; her husband, too, is incredible. That she is willing to do this, to enable families who can't have a child to be able to have a child, is an extraordinary gift."
Wyatt Cooper's middle name is Morgan, which Anderson revealed is a family name from his mother's side. He explained, "My son's middle name is Morgan. It's a family name on my mom's side. I know my mom and dad liked the name Morgan because I recently found a list they made 52 years ago when they were trying to think of names for me."
Anderson is raising his son alongside his ex-boyfriend, Benjamin Maisani. Last year, he explained that the decision was an easy one. He also told Today that his ex is already speaking French to the baby. "He’s already speaking French to him; I have no idea what he’s saying. He could be turning the kid against me, I don’t know."
