This past weekend, a regular guy was minding his own business, when he spotted a dog wearing a pair of pants. Now, there are tons of people who dress up their pups, especially in the wintertime… but have we ever stopped to think a little deeper about the whole four-legged/two-legged difference between us and our furry friends?
A man named Norbert, a moderator of the Facebook page Utopian Raspberry – Modern Oasis Machine, gave this dilemma a good thought. After hours of consideration, he drew up a picture at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning, and posted it to the page. The aftermath of that one simple post is incredible.
The internet responded with great intensity… some people are even likening it to the great blue-and-black or white-and-gold dress debate from earlier this year. But the real question is… how do you think a dog should wear pants? With all fours? Or just the hind two?
Do you think the dog on the left is correct? Or the dog on the right?
Yes, all of a dog's limbs are technically akin to feet, since he uses them to walk. But… should they be considered arms?
The comments on Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook all offer very valid points, including the very strong argument that pants should cover the behind. But does that overrule the fact that pups have four legs? What about the fact that dogs sniff each other's behinds as a form of saying hello? There are so many levels to consider.
What do you think?
