It's not unusual for brides to have some special requests when planning their special day. They can sometimes get carried away into bridezilla territory, though. One bride's requests were so outlandish that someone in her inner circle couldn't help but share them on Reddit. The bride made some pricey wardrobe requests for her 2019 Hawaiian destination wedding, which is already costing guests a pretty penny. As the post made its rounds on Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook, people were appalled that the bride could find these requests reasonable.
However, what the person who shared the screenshots probably didn't expect was for the post to go viral. It wasn't long before the bride herself came across the details of her wedding on several social media platforms. She felt betrayed and wanted revenge against the person who leaked her wedding information, so she announced in a Facebook post (which has also gone viral) that she'd hold a "polygraph party" to try to find the individual responsible.
The original post began with the bride explaining that she had a particular dress code that she was informing people of a year and a half out so that they'd be able to get their outfits.
Attending a destination wedding in Hawaii already sounds expensive. So when you add on the fact that women are expected to buy Christian Louboutin heels, the most basic of which retails at $695, it's pretty insane.
There's also the fact that the bride assigned her dress code by weight, which is insensitive on quite a few levels.
It gets better. The bride's dress code requirements are just for a synchronized dance during the ceremony. The high-scale reception requires another outfit, and its value has to be at least $1,000.
She closes by saying there are "no excuses" for not obliging.
Aside from all the obviously appalling things about the post, there's the added fact that people were seriously offended by the bride's color scheme.
There's also the fact that, as this Reddit user points out, there's no way those outfits are practical for a Hawaiian beach wedding.
In case you thought this couldn't get any wilder, the bride started seeing the post about her wedding on her social media accounts.
She added to the chaos with an equally shocking post about how she planned to find out who posted the screenshots.
The bride will be throwing a "polygraph party," using a polygraph machine she bought on Amazon.
If you don't intend this insane polygraph party, you'll be presumed guilty… because that makes sense.
She's offering her friends $100 to rat on each other as well. As for the dress code, she's letting people opt out of the dance, provided they assist in some other way.
The bride concluded her rant by saying how she was not at all a bridezilla. Rather, strangers on the internet have gotten information about her wedding without context and passed judgment on a situation they know nothing about.
