We've all been the mom who has been spotted sprinting to snatch up our unruly toddler at times. But one Ohio mom found herself having to do just that in very, very public view.
Morgan Tucker, a mom from Moscow, Ohio, took her son Zaydek to his first soccer game Saturday night. But she wound up on the field, sprinting after him and tackling him to the ground. Little Zaydek was apparently having so much fun watching the game that he wanted to be on the field, too.
The incident, which is pretty hilarious and relatable, was captured in footage from the game. Major League Soccer shared the moment on Twitter with the caption, "We hope this mother and her young pitch invader are having a great day. ."
Now, we all know that moms of toddlers get used to being fast. We have to keep up with those quick little legs, after all. But Morgan's sprint is seriously impressive. Look at her go!
Of course, the funny moment captured a lot of people's attention online. Good Morning America even reached out to Morgan for an interview after the moment went viral. She told the outlet that she and her son were guests of her employer and sitting in club seats when her son made his getaway.
"I literally looked away for one second and saw he was under the fence and I was like, 'Oh my gosh,'" she told GMA. "I had to jump over the gate and then sprinted after him."
Luckily, Zaydek, who slid under a fence before sprinting across the field himself, wasn't upset. He actually seemed pretty pleased with himself, his mom said.
"When I got him back over the fence I said, 'What were you doing?,' and he said, 'Mom, soccer ball.'
"He was really into the game and when the players would go to the other side of the field, he was not happy, so he wanted them to be there with him."
"He was just running after them," she added. "He was just laughing and had no idea what he did." Pretty typical! Toddlers can make such trouble, giggle, and totally forget what just happened.
Morgan also said that while, in the moment, she didn't feel any pain from the tackle, she definitely felt it the next day. All she really felt at the time, though, was embarrassment.
"Everyone was screaming and cheering and I knew they were not cheering for the game. My face was as red as a tomato." But clearly, this amazing mom had some fans.
Morgan described her son was being super active. Clearly! She also said that Zaydek is really into playing soccer right now: "I want him to meet the FC team now and kick a ball with them. That would be so cool."
The enthusiastic fan was given the ball from Saturday's game to take home with him.
