Camilla, Duchess Of Cornwall Apparently Has Some Not-So-Warm Feelings About The Sussexes

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall is a pretty neutral figure in the royal family. That decision is strategic. Camilla's entry into the royal family was surrounded by scandal and Prince Charles' lowest popularity point ever.

Yet, Camilla has risen up to a respectable and hardworking member of the royal family. Some people have even softened to the bond between her and Charles and come to accept that the two have truly been in love all along.

It was once said that Camilla's difficult entry into the royal family made her sympathetic to her stepdaughter-in-law, Meghan Markle. A new report is refuting that claim, however, adding Camilla to the list of royals who have allegedly had enough of Harry and Meghan.

Prince Charles is said to have been hurt by the way things unfolded between himself, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle during their exit from royal life. While that isn't necessarily news, the fact that Camilla is outraged by what Harry did to his father is.

"It was really hard for him," a source told The Telegraph, per The Mirror.

Sources say that Camilla has supported Charles through this difficult time with his son, but it has soured her opinion of both Harry and Meghan in the process.

"I don't think the Duchess will ever forgive Meghan for what she's done to the Prince of Wales," the source claims.

Another matter that Camilla is allegedly annoyed about? She's not happy at the ways Harry and Meghan's continuous coverage took away from work other royals were doing, herself included. She allegedly has one particular incident from March 2020 in mind.

At the time, Camilla was set to deliver the opening speech at the Women of the World festival. It was part of her continued work with domestic violence survivors, which is a central piece of her personal royal agenda. Royal reporters extensively covered the event.

The event was scheduled during the same time as Harry and Meghan were in the UK, and as a result, they were also getting a significant amount of press coverage. Camilla felt her long-awaited speech was overshadowed by Meghan's private visit to the National Theatre, which was covered by other outlets and predominately on social media.

"Camilla's work is very important to her and her decision to highlight the scourge of domestic violence at the 10th anniversary of Women of the World was a carefully thought-out plan," the source said of the incident.

"Over the last four years she has worked tirelessly, mostly behind the scenes but to great effect, to use her platform and personal experiences to highlight the issue and help sufferers."

"Of course it was known Harry and Meghan would be doing engagements this week, some privately, but everyone was in agreement that Camilla's speech should take precedence," the source continued.

"Unfortunately some people had other ideas."

These reports are in direct contrast to earlier reports that saw Camilla and Meghan as unlikely allies trying to figure the royal machine out.

"I think Camilla can easily empathise with Meghan because of what she went through in the media," royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told Vanity Fair in 2019.

"At one stage, no one was more beleaguered by the tabloids than Camilla, but she was shrewd enough to know that antagonism would get her nowhere."

"Meghan could learn an enormous amount from Camilla," Sally continued.

"I think Camilla is genuinely a kind person and while there are many differences between the two of them, they have both been on the receiving end of some very negative press. The thing Camilla learned was how to cultivate a relationship with the press. I have watched her talk to reporters, be friendly with the photographers and win over the tabloids who had once tried to ruin her."
