Jenelle Evans has always been one of the more controversial cast members of MTV's Teen Mom 2. We first met Jenelle on season two of 16 and Pregnant, when she was pregnant with now 9-year-old Jace. Both 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 2 made Jenelle infamous for her explosive arguments with her mother, Barbara.
Jenelle got arrested 10 times between October 2010 and the end of 2013, when she was pregnant with her second child, now 4-year-old Kaiser. Her relationship with Kaiser's father, Nathan Griffith, was tumultuous and led to several more arrests through 2015.
In 2015, Jenelle met her current husband, David Eason. Jenelle and David were together for about a year when she announced she was expecting her third child, Ensley. The little girl was born in January 2017 and was also the third child for David. A month later, David proposed to Jenelle. They married that September. Their marriage has had its ups and downs, the latter of which led MTV to fire David from the show. The latest incident between the couple involving Jenelle's dog has many fans concerned about the safety of Jenelle and her children.
Jenelle Evans met David Eason on Tinder following her breakup from fiancé Nathan Griffith. She introduced him to fans in late September 2015.
The two were going strong for about a year when Jenelle announced she was expecting. It would be the third child for both Jenelle and David.
Ensley Jolie Eason was born on January 24, 2017. Things seemed to be looking up for Jenelle and her expanding brood.
Less than a month after welcoming their little girl, David proposed to Jenelle. "We've decided on forever! #PerfectTiming," Jenelle wrote alongside a picture with her man and her new ring.
The two bought a home together and got it ready as they planned their wedding. It seemed Jenelle was excited to settle down with David and their kids.
Jenelle and David were married in September 2017. While none of Jenelle's family attended the nuptials, she was happy with the fact that Jace walked her down the aisle.
Trouble began when David shared a picture of Jenelle firing a gun on Twitter. David shared the photo just hours after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Fans were outraged. When a fan engaged David in a gun control debate on Twitter days later, it led to David expressing homophobic and transphobic sentiments.
MTV took a strong stance on David's behavior. A spokesperson for the network told Us Weekly: "David Eason’s personal comments do not reflect the views of MTV. With six weeks left of production on Teen Mom 2, effective immediately, we are ending our relationship with him.”
A domestic violence incident between the couple furthered fans' concerns for Jenelle and her kids. Despite calling 911 on her husband in October 2018, Jenelle changed her tune by the time police arrived and refused to press charges.
David continued to lash out after an alleged visit from the Secret Service regarding some tweets aimed at the President Donald Trump regarding bump stocks. In his rant, David reiterated that he wasn't afraid to shoot trespassers on his property and the like.
Breakup rumors have plagued the couple since early this year. It all came to a head in 2019 after an incident with Nugget, Jenelle's French bulldog. After Ensley got in the family dog's face and Nugget nipped at her, David shot and killed the dog. David captured the incident on camera and posted it, along with a photo of Ensley's face. The bite did not break the child's skin.
"David killed my dog Nugget because he snapped at my 2-year-old, Ensley. He doesn’t put up with that and those are his beliefs,” Jenelle told Us Weekly. “He just took her and shot her in the woods… about two acres away from the house.”
Jenelle left the home with her kids following the incident. "David and I are not on talking terms," she explained to Us Weekly. "I’m too hurt and upset at the fact he did that. It’s taking time to get over this whole situation, and it’s making me feel he’s very cruel and doesn’t have a heart on many ends."
Jenelle asked for privacy as she tries to determine the best move for herself and her children: "[I] would like for everyone to just give me my own time right now to figure things out and clear my head."
The couple is still togther at this time.
