Ex-Wife Of Murdered Microsoft Executive Hires Her Own Defense Attorney Amid Investigation

Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan was found shot inside his own car in early 2022. He had just dropped off his two oldest children with their mother, ex-wife Shanna Gardner-Fernandez, and was driving with his youngest child in the backseat.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain a mystery. Bridegan's 2-year-old, whom he shared with wife Kirsten Bridegan, was in the car with her father's body for approximately three minutes.

By the time police arrived, Bridegan's car's emergency lights were flashing and a spare tire was in the street. Authorities believe Bridegan was manipulated by whoever shot him into thinking they needed help.

Authorities recently revealed that Gardner-Fernandez and her husband, Mario Fernandez, have hired their own defense attorney, despite the fact that no suspects have been announced.

Their lawyer, Henry Coxe III, has stated he was hired "for the purpose of seeing if steps could be taken to protect her young twins from any publicity surrounding this tragic event."

He added, "As for any other reason for the family to have or need counsel, whether it be myself or anyone else, there is none."

However, Bridegan and his ex-wife had been fighting in courts off and on since they divorced in 2015. Their marriage ultimately ended after Bridegan found out his ex-wife had been having an affair, and the two ended up fighting for primary custody and ownership of their home in Jacksonville, Florida.
