Calaveras Co. Mom Of 4 Wins $2M In Lottery Before Being Killed In Apparent Murder-Suicide

Tragedy struck a family in Oklahoma, just after their lives were set to change forever. Tiffani Hill, who was 31 and a mom of four, was the lucky winner in a scratch-off lottery ticket that granted her $2 million. But she was unable to enjoy her winnings, as she was reportedly killed by her partner, John Donato.

Tiffani, John, and their daughter Leanne were all found by police with fatal bullet wounds at home in Calera, Oklahoma. At the time they were found, Leanne was still alive, but suffering severely. She later died at the hospital.

In November 2020, Tiffani purchased the ticket at a store located in Valley Springs in Calaveras County, California. Soon after, she chose to marry John, and she moved with her kids to Oklahoma to start their family life together.

But things took a turn for the worse. The money reportedly caused the two to fight more often than usual.

Leanne was just 1 year old at the time of her death. Tiffani's other three children were in the house at the time, but they survived the incident.

Friends and family of Tiffani have reported that the relationship was abusive and that Tiffani wanted out.

It's unclear as to whether or not Tiffani and John's final conversation was in regard to their winnings, but police feel like it's possible.

Tiffani's three surviving children will likely move back to California to live with Tiffani's family. The remaining earnings will be placed in a trust fund for them to access when they get older.

It's devastating to see how much power money can have. But domestic violence should never be tolerated in any relationship.
