It was the fall of 2011 when Long Island Medium premiered on TLC, and the world completely fell in love with the self-proclaimed medium, Theresa Caputo, and her wacky family.
In this clip from TLC UK, you are able to get an inside look at Frasier star Kelsey Grammar and his wife, Kayte, as they receive a personal reading from none other than the Long Island Medium herself.
Right off the bat, Kelsey makes it known that he is a believer while his wife is somewhat of a skeptic. “I have always believed in being able to contact the other side,” Kelsey expresses.
Things start out from an emotional place with Theresa’s reading for Kelsey as she notes that she’s feeling slightly nervous and kind of guarded, but overall, she tells Kelsey that “peace will be found today.”
“There is something about your mom … she’s just so loving towards you,” Theresa tells Kelsey through tears. “She’s like, ‘I am just so sorry for the burdens that you have carried through your life.’”
After that message, Theresa notes that his sister steps through, and she immediately can tell that Kelsey was her older brother who showed her a lot of care.
“She says, ‘I just wanted to do and be wherever he was,’” Theresa tells Kelsey, but there’s a lot more to her story than that.
“My sister Karen is the primary tragedy of my life,” Kelsey divulges to production. “My sister was killed in 1975. She was raped and stabbed 42 times.”
Kelsey has carried so much guilt and grief over his sister’s tragic death over the years because they were so close growing up, but he was 2,000 miles away at the time of her death. Still, he felt a sense of responsibility for his little sister.
