Back in 2006, Adele signed her first record deal after a friend promoted her work on Myspace. Since then, her career has blown up. Not only does she have 44 million followers on Instagram, but she's one of the most trusted and beloved singers today. Many people love Adele since aside from her talent, she's quick to open up with her audience during a show.
But she has another job that means a lot to her — she's a mom of a 9-year-old boy named Angelo. Angelo Adkins was born in 2012, and Adele shares him with her ex Simon Konecki. Even though the pair have split, it seems like Simon and Adele still care a lot about each other. In fact, just recently, Adele credited Simon for saving her life.
"He came at such a moment, where the stability that him and Angelo have given me, no one else would ever have been able to give me," she said in her recent interview with Oprah Winfrey.
While Adele had kept her home life and career somewhat separate for so long, she finally got a chance to do something she's always wanted to do — sing in public while Angelo was in the audience.
"It's the absolute honor of my life," she told the crowd while performing for her Adele One Night Only special. Angelo was there alongside celebrities like Lizzo and Melissa McCarthy.
"It's too soon to cry, and I don't want someone to come fix my face," she added. "You look so beautiful and so handsome and smart." She also mentioned on Twitter that she's never been so nervous in her life for the moment to show Angelo what she's really made of.
While talking to Oprah during the special, she also got into the relationship she had with Angelo's father. While the two were together for years, their marriage was short-lived.
"I feel like him and Angelo were angels," she said. Being able to reflect on a previous romantic relationship with so much respect for your former partner is the ideal situation, and it seems like Adele is quite fond with how things happened.
