Are you someone who loves to watch extraordinary things take place on a cool time lapse? It can feel completely different when you get to watch something unfold that took place over multiple days or even weeks in just a few moments.
This video shared by Penny M on YouTube shows the raising of an Ohio Amish barn in just three minutes, 30 seconds.
It may seem hard to believe when you drive past large barn structures that it more than likely required months of planning, building, and the effort of many capable individuals to put something like that together. This video works to showcase just that.
It’s quite a sight to take in as you’re able to see the existing structure as-is with one two-story side the first to be raised by a handful of workers doing the heavy lifting.
This barn went up on May 13, 2014, and Penny M shares that it was her husband, Scott Miller, who shot the footage on a Canon camera with a remote timer filming at 20-second intervals. Overall, it was over 10 hours of footage, but they were able to compress it down to a time lapse that’s under four minutes.
Shortly after the first two-story wall has been put into place, the workers start on some of the other walls and even the roof. It almost doesn’t even look real as you watch the tiny people work away so quickly as the Amish barn gets more and more finished in seemingly mere seconds.
Soon, they’re onto the roof of what appears to be another nearby farm structure, and by the end of the video, the large red barn looks as though it’s been there for years.
