Actress and comedian Rosie O’Donnell took to TikTok to respond to her 19-year-old daughter Vivienne’s claims that her childhood was not normal. In the video, Rosie states, "Vivi, what do you mean I didn't do anything normal? I did normal things. I'm normal. I'm totally normal."
The whole TikTok conversation began when Vivienne was telling a story about how, growing up, a beautiful, kind woman named Mo would come to her birthday parties. Mo would also bring her kids over for playdates. Fast-forward to one night when Vivienne and mom Rosie were watching an award show on television and there’s Mo. Mo just happens to be Madonna, but Vivienne did not realize this. Rosie and Madonna worked together on the film A League of Their Own. Many TikTok users commented on how nice it was that Rosie kept Vivienne’s life “normal.”
The comments from fellow TikTok users caused Vivienne to record and upload a follow-up video. She starts off by saying that “no offense, Mom,” but normal “didn’t happen.” Vivienne admits that Rosie did so much for her and that she is “so incredibly, incredibly thankful for her.” Vivienne ends the video by saying, “But one thing she has not done is be normal.”
Rosie O’Donnell is a mother to five children. She shares Parker, Chelsea, Blake, and Vivienne with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter. Kelli and Rosie divorced in 2007. Rosie married Michelle Rounds in 2012. Michelle and Rosie adopted daughter Dakota in 2013. Rosie and Michelle divorced in 2015.
Rosie seems to take Vivienne’s TikTok videos in stride. As a longtime actor and comedian, living in the public eye is nothing new to Rosie. She even jokes with Vivienne, "Jeez, Viv. I'm gonna tell some secrets about you." Stay tuned to find out if Vivienne or Rosie tell any more family secrets on TikTok.
