Moms will do almost anything to protect their children and families. You do not want to mess with moms. This is especially true when a celebrity mom is trying to shield her child from the press. In the case of actress Blake Lively, this is happening even before her child is born.
Blake Lively recently posted pictures of her baby belly on Instagram and called out the photographers who were camped outside of her home. She cut out the middlemen and went straight to the people herself. She posted multiple shots in order to feed the paparazzi beast.
Blake captioned her baby belly photo dump, addressing the paparazzi directly, “Here are photos of me pregnant in real life so the 11 guys waiting outside my home for a sighting will leave me alone. You freak me and my kids out.” She is not messing around.
Blake thanked others who respect her and her family’s privacy: “Thanks to everyone else for all the love and respect and for continuing to unfollow accounts and publications who share photos of children. You have all the power against them.”
She also thanked members of the press who also respect her children’s privacy: “And thank you to the media who have a 'No Kids Policy'. You all make all the difference ♥️.” She signed off, “Much love! Xxb.”
Blake and husband Ryan Reynolds have three daughters together, 7-year-old James, 5-year-old Inez, and 2-year-old Betty. This pregnancy will bring child No. 4 to the couple. Blake and Ryan have been married for 10 years. They first met on the set of the film Green Lantern.
Blake and Ryan unofficially announced this pregnancy on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Blake attended the 10th Annual Forbes Power Women's Summit and walked the red carpet sporting her latest accessory, a new baby bump. Her outfit, a metallic sequined long-sleeved minidress, matched this perfectly.
Blake and Ryan like to keep their personal lives private. Even their wedding, which occurred on September 9, 2012, in South Carolina, was secret. They have kept this preference for privacy going with their children.
The public still does know the birthday of the couple’s first child, James. It was Page Six that confirmed she was born sometime in January 2015. The couple did not announce her name until Ryan appeared on Today in March 2015.
Singer Taylor Swift made Blake and Ryan’s third daughter’s name public knowledge. The singer is good friends with the couple. On her album Folklore, there is a track called "Betty." Inez and James are also mentioned in the lyrics of the song, which caused fans to figure out who the names were referencing. Since they already knew the names Inez and James, by power of deduction Betty had to be the missing name.
This is not the first or probably the last time Blake will speak out against paparazzi photos of her children. In 2021, she posted about a scary experience she had while out with her three daughters. Blake said, “You edit together these images together to look like I'm happily waving. But that is deceitful. The real story is: My children were being stalked by a men [sic] all day. Jumping out. And then hiding."
Blake went to call out this bad behavior: "Where is your morality here? I would like to know. Or do you simply not care about the safety of children?"
In the end, she made a plea for change. "Please stop paying grown a** men to hide and hunt children. C'mon. Get with the times."
Looks like Blake will continue to stand up for her children, no matter what.
