There are some things that are just so tragic, they are unexplainable. A horrific incident occurred in Texas last week. A 12-year-old girl in Weatherford, Texas, allegedly shot her father and then herself as part of a murder pact made with another girl.
In this pact, the girls promised to murder their families and pets and then run away together. The other girl, located in Lufkin, did not go through with it. She has been charged with criminal conspiracy. Both girls' names are being withheld because they are minors.
According to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at around 11:30 p.m., a girl was found lying in the street with a gunshot wound. The girl was located in northwest Parker County, which is just west of Fort Worth. A gun was found underneath the girl.
Upon further investigation, authorities discovered another shooting victim at the scene. They found the girl’s 38-year-old father inside the house. He had a gunshot wound in his abdomen.
Authorities are working under the belief that the girl first shot her father. She attempted to flee the scene. She then shot herself.
Both the father and daughter were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time. It is also unknown whether the daughter has been charged.
Even the adults' names in this case are not being released. This is to protect the identity of the minors who are involved. Information on this case will be limited because of the connection to minors.
The other minor involved was located in Lufkin, Texas. This is approximately 230 miles southeast of Weatherford. The girls planned to run away together to Georgia after committing their crimes.
The girl in Lufkin is already charged with criminal conspiracy by investigators in Parker County. She may eventually face additional charges. Lufkin police are also investigating this incident.
The investigation is still ongoing. Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier issued a statement about the tragic incident: “Due to the injuries, the age of the juveniles and the sensitive case matter, information released regarding this case will be limited.”
