Two fathers have been arrested in Florida after they engaged in a high-speed chase that resulted in both of their daughters being shot. The men are William Hale, 35, and Frank Allison, 43, and it appears they did not know one another ahead of the assault.
Hale's 5-year-old and Allison's 14-year-old were both shot during the chase.
Sheriff Bill Leeper explained, "Thankfully, no one was killed in this incident, but it could have very easily turned out that way because two people were acting stupid and let their tempers get the best of them."
The police received multiple calls about the shoot-out, which took place near Jacksonville, Florida. Police believe a third vehicle was also involved for a time.
According to reports, Hale pulled up next to Allison's vehicle and the latter's wife proceeded to "flick him off with her middle finger." The police chief added, "The driver of the Nissan, Allison, then grabbed his Sig Sauer .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun and fired one shot at the Dodge truck before driving away at an average speed."
